La Flor Spanish Institute
Intensive Spanish Course: In order to have the best progress in
class, the groups consist of a maximum of four students. The classes consist of four hours daily, with two hours in the mornings and two hours in the afternoon from Monday to Friday. You will have free time to complete homework or any research the
professor might assign to you, or simply to walk around the gardens or the farm. You can also visit Cartago or any other small towns in the area. Classes are very dynamic with diverse teaching techniques.
Professors: La Flor Spanish
Institute supplies excellent trained instructors with many years of experience teaching either groups or individuals. Classes are taught within a warm environment and with a high interest in social contact.
Our own workbooks: La Flor
Spanish Institute provides students with its own manuals made following professional standards of Spanish teaching techniques for foreign students. The manuals are made for three different levels (beginners, intermediate, and advanced).
One on one: If there is only one student attending the program, La Flor Spanish Institute will still offer classes on a one on one basis.
Placement Test: La Flor Spanish Institute applies a placement test (oral and written
test) in order to locate the abilities of each student.
Attendance certificate: An attendance certificate is given to the students in which we specify the hours and the level reached by the student.
ACTFL certificate:
If the student requests the ACTFL test La Flor Spanish Institute can arrange it.
Welcoming to Costa Rica: La Flor Spanish Institute provides the students with an orientation session in order to give the students a general knowledge of
Costa Rican culture and geography.
Location: La Flor Spanish Institute is located an hour from Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose, and half an hour from the city of Cartago. From its location national parks and other places of
natural interest are easily accessible to visit on the weekends. It has a wonderful panoramic view of the Orosi Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys of the country.
Costa Rican culture: La Flor Spanish Institute is located in La
Flor de Paraíso. This typical rural Costa Rican community, rich in culture, is located in the high lands of the Central Valley 1250 meters above sea level. The Spanish classes will allow the student to maintain an interaction with the
community by practicing Spanish with native speakers and learning about Costa Rican culture in a practical way.
Agro-ecological farm: The Spanish classes take place in beautiful modern classrooms within the green areas of La Flor de
Paraíso. This Agro-ecological farm is an environmentally enriched place surrounded by tropical gardens, a tropical forest of 10 ha. and organic agriculture. La Flor Spanish Institute helps finance the environmental programs provided to
children, teenagers and adults of the surrounding communities of La Flor de Paraíso agro-ecological farm. This farm is run by
ASODECAH, a non-profit association.
Healthy environment: La Flor Spanish Institute provides an ideal environment to live and study, free of smog, noise and stress
commonly generated by cities.
Drug and alcohol free: La Flor Spanish Institute maintains an environment free of alcohol and drugs, assuring that its students receive the healthiest learning experience possible.
Food: La
Flor Spanish Institute specializes in vegetarian and typical Costa Rican foods prepared by wood stove. These exquisite meals are mainly made with organic products grown at La Flor de Paraíso Agro-ecological farm.
Security:Walking freely around the farm and its surroundings without any fear of being assaulted or worrying about your belongings is one of the most relaxing advantages La Flor Spanish Institute provides to visitors. This type of security
cannot be assured when in a large city.
Internet service: Internet service is available in the nearby towns of Cervantes, Paraíso, and Cartago.
Laundry service: La Flor Spanish Institute has staff that will take
care of your laundry free of charge.
